Default Retraction form?

Hi,
My husband just got a call today from the VA (on Saturday) and said they were granting him 100% on PTSD, however they needed a "retraction form" for the joint pain or he will have to start his whole process all over. Can anyone tell me where to get this form or the form number? We need it ASAP to get this into the VA.

Also, just curious- 100% for PTSD, will that be considered P&T or UI or something else? My husband cannot remember ANYTHING the lady said on the phone AFTER being granted his 100%, he was much too relieved.

Thanks for all your help, as always-I come here FIRST!

Cheryl

Default retraction

try this below link. it has all the VA forms listed. it would be nice if you had the number of the form. you will have to look until you find it. try calling the service officer that is in your area and if that dont do it call the regional office. i have never heard of it but that dont mean much. do you have the 2006 Veterans Benefits book. if not i will send you a link to get it.

Default Still looking...

Thanks Maxtor ... I will look and see if I can find it. I wished I did have the form number. Oh well, off on another "hunt" for VA Form ????.

A link to the 06 benefits would be great. I appreciate your time and help.

Cheryl:

The VA doesn't get all hung up on forms. Just send them a letter stating you wish to withdraw your claim for Joint Pain. If they want you to fill out a form, they will send it to you.

The PTSD will most likely be Total but not likely Permanant for a couple years unless the decision maker had reason to believe the condition had no chance of improvement. It will not be IU as it sounds like it is based on the RatingSchedule, not extra schedular.

Default benefits handbook

here is where you can download the 2006 Handbook. it takes Adobe Acrobat reader to view it but if your computer is fairly new you probably have it anyway. if you dont you can download it from the web. if you need any help dont hesitate to ask any of us on here.

Default Thanks!

Thanks TinCanMan ... I told my husband that I would go to the board for answers and that "TinCanMan" would know ... he said "WHO!?" ... lol

None the less, you have been MOST helpful as well as Maxtor with his informative links and numbers. The VA stuff makes me nervous till I get "laymens" terms here.

All in all ... he got his 100% and just filed in October. I think he done okay for himself.

Thanks so much guys and MERRY CHRISTMAS to ALL!

Cheryl
