Hi all
I was recently told that I had 15 months of time left, I informed my vre counselor that I would not be finished. They only gave me 2 years and I had to take a ton of remedial classes to get into my school. My question is there anything I can do to extend my time so I can finish? It just seems weird that they would drop you after putting all that money into you. Lost atm |

I am under the impression (and reading page 881 of the 2006 edition of the VBM from NVLSP)
that CHapter 31 veterans have potential entitlement to Voc Rehab for a period of 12 years after the established qualifying date of VA SC rating that established their entitlement. The 12 year period "may be extended on a case by case basis when a veteran has been determined to have a serious employment handicap." 38 USCS 3103(c) (2006) You need to find out from your VA Voc Rehab counselor what the specific reason from VA is for the limiting period of time you have and then send the VA Educational Dept that handles this benefit a statement requesting that your limiting date be extended. |
