Thumbs up Sure didn't

We did dig up a lot of trucks and other eguipment you left behind. If I would have known, I would have looked for it.
In 1991, I watched a documentry on the HIstory Channel, where a Marine went back and found his orginal bunker he occupited in 1968.
That hill was carpet bombed with B-52s in 1971. I'm not calling this Marine a lier, but it is very, very, very hard for me to believe.
I take my tour in Khe Sanh very serious, because I thought my body would rot there.
We did drive down with more support, gunships, gun trucks and armored tank protection than we could believe. We made it and now I'm home.

By The Way, Did I Say, I was Army.

Default Saw the B-52s

Joe - I have been in the AO shortly after a scrape by 52's. The 500 pound bombs would literly lift us off our feet. Who knows if the leather neck is telling the truth or was just confused. Until proved otherwise and since he's a Vet I would have to agree that he indeed find the bunker.

I for one haven't the cojonies to go back. I have problems eating in chinese restaurants.

Default Possibility

No, my friend, I will not say he is a lier. What I'm saying, it's hard for me to believe. I saw first hand what Khe Sanh looked like when we went back in 1971, After those 52s came through there back in 1968. There were craders. everywhere. Well, I was told that the 52s bomb in 1968. This was hear say for me, but there were plenty craders.
You have to remember, there are True Vietnam War Veterans, and there are those who wanna be.
Later my friend, and take care of your self.

Default Hindsight

You are correct Joe. In hindsight I suppose there are several wantabes. They sentenced that person who was posing as a Marine yesterday. I would think that jail time may have been more appropriate. I work on Ft. Leavenworth and not too long ago the detention barracks (U.S. Disciplinary Barracks) received the full bird that was wearing several unauthorized ribbons. When a prisoner is received they sit him down in a chair. The room is empty excepted for the chair, him in class A's, and two MP guards. The guards literly attack the uniform tearing off medals, patches, buttons, insignas, everything. It's quite an emotional event.

Well I digress - sorry.
