It probably can help with Diabetes.. I eat a Dill Pickle, it helps to bring my sugar down.. I eat it one every other day, and if I do eat something with sugar, I would eat a pickle afterwards..

I do whatever helps to stabilize my blood sugars ....

We all need plenty of fibre. It is probably very difficult to eat too much of it.

It helps normalise the gi index of a meal containing carbohydrate. This reduces the risk of developing diabetes.

The risk of colon cancer is reduced.

Constipation is less likely.

I was diagnosed with Type II diabetes melitus in April of 2000. I went to Dr. because I was getting up 5-6 times nightly to "P". The nurse tested my urine and blood and I was at 535. Dr. said I should have been flopping around on the floor, not driving myself to him.... I was put on medications and exercise program. In 2005 I decided to change my life style as far as eating everything that passed my plate. (It usually couldn't make it past). Soooo... my wife & I joined Weight Watchers and I lost over 65 lbs in 18 months. I'm a life time WW member & I NO LONGER take any diabetes medications. My sugar hangs between 90 & 120 every day. Except when Ben & Jerry strike!!!

I realize most people are not as fortunate as me in this battle. I still have diabetes but, it's under control (for now anyhow)

Believe it or not I find Vodka reduces my blood readings. As we all know, Vodka has no sugar. Works for me. And even if didn't, it makes you feel better lol. I have Diabetes Melitus II as well. and take tablet type medication for it.
