Claims Status and Progress ? !!!

[1968 Tet Vet]

I just received an IRIS response via e-mail. In 2005, 06, and 07, I filed various claims. Here is what I got today:

Dear Mr. XXXX,

We have just recently received your claim for IU and are currently developing on that. NOTE: I filed this in Jan '07.

Your claim for Meniere's Syndrome is currently being reviewed. We are also working on a dependency claim for you. Amazing.... the dependency claim is for my wife being added to my claim award, July 2005.

We also show that we have received a notice of disagreement has been received by you, however, we have not had a chance to review this yet. NOD filed May 2007.

You have several claims going at this time and there are several different teams involved in processing all of these claims. We currently are taking anywhere from nine to eighteeen months to finalize a claim. Amazing... my claims are almost 3 years old.... now another 18 months.... then, I will file a VA Form 9, Appeal.... that will go on for another 3 years. WOW.

HOW.... can this take so long..... like 7 years ?!?!?! Comments, pls ? Well, I said 7 years.... but more realistic is 8 or 9.

I'm going to be very frank here with you. You have already been bounced from two other veterans forums for having a combative nature with your posts. Furthermore, your advice you have given in the past is for the most part flat out wrong and totally way off the mark, which could ultimately damage a veteran's claims. Don't start that crap here!

Please explain what you're talking about. I have NEVER ever been combative against anyone on any webboard.... yes, against the wrong-doings of the VA, but NEVER have I ever made a personal issue against another vet on any webboard. Facts are facts.... and personal attacks have no place on any webboard.

I have my opinions as to a course of action in VA claims and should be allowed to express it. NO... I do not know everything, on the contrary. And, if I don't know, I will not say anything. And.... yes, I may be wrong about this and that..... as we all are from time to time. I don't claim to be perfect. But... if I error, it will be in favor of the Vet, not the VA.... and thats a BIG difference. I am pro-Vet, not pro-VA.
