Talking A short history of myself.

"Hello to everyone:

My name is Palmer lopez and I went to Vietnam in 65-67, I was with CO D 65th Enger Batt, 25th infantry division, in Plieku in the central highlands. The whole experience for me was something that I will allways remember the rest of my life, made a lot of good friends lost a few, but threw it all some of us were fortunate enough, with Gods will and made it home safely and we pray for those who didn't. When I got home in 67, I wasn't surppriseed when I got home and found that nobody really cared about what I did in Nam, the first 2-3 years were really hard for me because I really didn't have what you would call friends just my family. I got married In 69 to a wonderful young lady and her name was Joanne, everything was going just fine, she gave me my first daugther Ronda and then one more daugther Kelly and then 7 months into her Pregnancy she was diagnose with MS and that would change our lives. For the next 22 years I took care of her, then 1995 she passed away from this illness, it took me 2 years to get over this but I did with Gods help. Now I'm married to a wonderful women and her name is Margaret she has really helped me threw all of what I was going through, we have been married for 11 years and she has 2 sons, together we have 2 sons and 2 daugthers and 6 grandchilden and we are doing great, she is helping me with some VA claims for illness caused from Agent Orange. I'm semi retired from the college I worked for 23 years and they have hired me back partime and it's working out OK for me and my wife. Thank you for letting me share some of my life with you.

Thank You

Palmer lopez

Default welcome

Welcome to the group Palmer,

Your story reminded me of my times with dealing with being a vietnam vet. I worked at a printing company for 25 years until it closed. During that time we had two overweight foreman that told every new employee that I was a crazy vietnam vet. This went on without my knowledge until someone told me about it. The guy that told me said they warned him about me and he said great I am a vietnam vet too, now I will have a friend to talk to. Anytime someone in the news would go postal and go on a killing spree it was always caused by a crazy vietnam vet according to these two foreman. I guess down deep they were showing that they were rejected by the military because they were too fat. That being said they felt they had to downgrade me every chance they got. I believe the majority of the workers never gave it much thought since I never did go postal.

So welcome home Palmer and thank you for your service.

Westerville

Hola Palmer
I am also a Vietnam vet and I thank you my brother in arms for your honorable service to your nation. People like you are the foundation stone that makes America the mighty country it is. Gods Blessing to your family and may you continue to prosper. Thank you for your sacrifice and that of your comrades. Welcome here. You will find expert advice in respect to your VA claims in this site. Tin Can Man and Vike are real Phd's when it comes to the VA. They are always willing and very able to help. Ask them!

Default Welcome

Hi Palmer,
Welcome to the forums. As has been said the information you can get from
this site is top notch. I filed a claim last year and have gained many important
facts in the short time I have been a member. Don't hesitate to ask, because
if the answer isn't known people here will do their best to find the answer and
direct you down the correct path.
I also am a Vietnam vet and was stationed in Plieku with the 1st/ 22nd Infantry
I was there 69-70. I'm also one of the fortunate ones who has some health
issues but minor in comparison to some of our fellow vets.
Welcome again and God Bless.

Palmer -

Sorry to hear about your loss of a wonderful spouse; but God knew that and why he gave you another.

Thank you for your service rendered and hope that all your issues will be taken cared of.

God bless... and you are.
