Fellow Vietnam Veterans, Are you having trouble with your vision? I have been diagnosed with an auto-immune disorder called Birdshot Chorioretinitis which is a progressive eye disorder resulting in permanent blindness by both loss of central visual acuity and visual field. Its first symptoms are generally loss of night vision, followed by decreasing peripheral vision in daylight conditions, then loss of central vision by the inflammatory effects of the disease. Its is also a painful eye condition that is resistant to ordinary pain medications, and patients have extreme photophobia (light sensitivity.) When I was first diagnosed I was told how extremely rare this disease is and have recently been told of other Vietnam Veterans that are suffering from the same condition. My instincts tell me its something from agent orange, so I want to locate other veterans and see if my instincts are right. If you have been diagnosed with this or are having trouble being diagnosed with a vision impairment and were a Vietnam Veteran please contact me at [email protected]. Thanks for your time!
