    Astrocytoma.

I have read the posts on here and must disagree with what some call studies. I do not see how Astrocytoma is not noted as being A/O caused, but diabetes type 2 is recognized. Diabetes in any shape or form can and is also cause by genetics, or weight gain, bad health do to not taking care of one self. My dad fought in Vietnam, he came home sick and died at the age of 33, Feb 1982. He was healthy before he went, and came back sick. His death certificate states he died from a tumor called Astrocytoma. I do not consider this coincidence. 13-15 years earlier fighting with the 101st screaming eagle. He was one of 3 chalks that jumped into vietnam right before they sprayed masses amount of A/O. He was young, 33. This is not coincidence. It is noted the government used these herbicides 6-25 times greater than the suggested amount. They dumped 18 million gallons of this stuff all over the land. I will pursue and I will prove this is related to A/O. The ingredients in agent orange alone is enough to make one sick or kill. The amount they used could and has caused major health concerns in many who fought in vietnam. It all soaked into the blood stream of everyone infected, the blood stream goes through out a persons entire body, including the brain. How is this tumor not related???

Thank you for posting. I am advocating for the widows of Vets with GBM4. My husband died at 58. Too many. We are compiling a list. We also now have researchers in the medical field to help us. If you or someone you know has died or is fighting a GBM4, contact me. Thank you!!

I spent a tour on the DMZ in Korea (1967-68) and two tours in the bush in Vietnam (1969-1971), as an Infantry/RTO. My name is Morris "J" SAPP Jr. I ate , slept and lived in Agent orange for three (3) years. No one told me it was any problem, even when I asked why an area we were in looked a certain way. I was told nothing and not given a reason. I just stopped asking after a while. Now, I came down with a Glioblastoma Multiforme brain tumor Stage 4 and was operated on at McCormick Hospital. Here in Chiang Mai, Thailand on Dec, 10, 2013.It came on so quickly I had no other chance or choice but just get the brain tumor operation here in Chiang Mai. I was in no condition to go to the States. I probably would have died trying to make it to back to a VA facility. I am a disabled veteran residing abroad. MY FAMILY IS HERE, I mean, who has the money for a medevac. I don’t. I have had to pay these endless medical expenses out of my pocket, since I became ill. Being a disabled veteran I am uninsurable In the private insurance sector due to my service connected disabilities. No private insurer will sell veterans like me any medical/health insurance. Due to no fault of our own. The VA has denied the claim. As I said I have had to pay all of this out of my pocket; surgery, radiation and chemotherapy, which I am still undergoing. If not for my credit card I would definitely been dead. And many of us disabled veterans don’t have credit cards Again, I said dead. The hospital would not have taken me unless they were sure they could get paid by my credit card. My surgeon told me if I did not get the surgery I would be dead by the end of January 2014. This was early December 2013 I guess In all truthfulness I have to ask if I DIDN’T CONTRACT THIS in Vietnam and/or Korea during my military service, I must have contracted this tumor in Central Park or the Bronx Zoo (which I doubt), because according to the VA my claim is DENIED.
To top that off and for the VA to kindly increase the nightmare I was undergoing, the VA sent me 2 large packets totally eighty-five (85)pages all together, I counted the pages individually twice. .I didn’t believe it. I had just arrived home to begin my convalescents after brain surgery and they were doing this to me. They wanted all the paper work completed and return to them immediately through the U.S. Consulate in Chiang Mai. and/or, and less than 60 days and much of the date had expired already. So here I was worried about my direct deposit being cutoff. How was I going pay all these hospital bills and get all this paperwork done and at the time. At that time, I couldn’t subtract 8 from 14 (fourteen) and come to a conclusive answer. I got my VFW post service officer to help me with some things and called the U.S. Consulate here in Chiang Mai to help me others but as I said it was a real nightmare. Thank you VA or should I say thank you FRIENDLY VA. That was not nice at all and very very very disrespectful. The VA could have waited a month or two if that was what they wanted, to put me through. ALL OF THAT. I couldn’t hold a conversation for more than 10-15 minutes before I had to crawl into the bed tuckered out. Again, I want to thank you again VA, Thank you for caring. Thank you for being so pathetic. And I very much hope you individually experience the same sometime.
This appears to be the only real basis the VA refused my claim. And left me to die and deal with these medical bills on my own. I was told by a VFW Service Officer the VA had a fast track program that could help me BUT no one helped me. In the other claim, the VA had used an independent medical opinion as evidence, which was merely grounded in the lack of GM being on the Agent Orange Presumptive list as the basis for denying a relationship. VA then ordered another medical opinion which determined that there was no research into the relationship between GM and Agent Orange. Sheeree countered with a medical assessment which argued that there was an abundance of research into the relationship between GM and Agent Orange. In a recent decision, the Board of Veterans' Appeals decided that the evidence in favor and against were in equal weight and applied the benefit of the doubt rule and on January 26th, 2011 granted Sheeree’s claim. While this is not a precedential decision, VA did admit a link between the two
GBMs are mainly composed of star-shaped glial cells known as astrocytes. The general term glioma includes any type of brain tumor such as astrocytoma and oligodendroglioma that arise from glial cells.
Yes. I will probably die from this, Glioblastoma Mutiforme , but I hope the VA never treats me the same way again, as they did this time around. I hope they never treat any of our veterans that way again. We deserve consideration and respect. I would hope they keep that in mind I the future!!!

Even though the VA allocates funds to treat disabled veterans (abroad included) like me every year. The money is there to treat us. And can be funneled through the VA Foreign Medical Program (FMP) though we are uninsurable in the private sector it still has to be service-connected. If not for my credit card I would definitely been dead. And many of us disabled veterans don’t have credit cards Again, I said dead.
