AndyBen, any Infantryman who served in Korea, particularly from Jul, '50-Sep '51, knew of, and admired, the 27th Infantry Regiment, (Wolfhounds), of the 25th Infantry Division. The 27th, like the 5th Regimental Combat Team (which was attached to the 25th Infantry Division for a time) was used as a 'Fire Brigade'...Wherever the greatest amount of feces was hitting the fan, that's where you would find the 27th and 5th Regimental Combat Teams.

Although I didn't serve with any unit from the 25th ID, my boss in VN (69-70), was a LTC (P) Harley F. Mooney, who, I believe was known to many soldiers of that division when he was the Asst G3 on their assignment to Vietnam. When I worked for him, Mooney was the Province Senior Advisor, MACCORDS, Quang Tri Province. He subsequently retired as a BG. I was his S-1/Team Adjutant at the time. Most miserable tour working for that man!
