My husband is 100% sc for ischemic heart disease and 30% sc for ptsd. His rating is temporary. He is 64 years old and just applied for social security. Our state reimburses a % of property tax but rating must be total and permanent. He has a C&P exam coming up next week - the letter says the exam is for medicine. He has chronic copd and emphysema too but not service connected. He is getting the max benefit but would be helpful to get the state reimbursement on property tax if he could be made permanent. If not possible, we will need to sell our house and move to the next county where taxes are more affordable. He quit his job last month due to stress so he is settling into retirement but wondering if he should push VA for PTIU or leave things as they are, hoping that they will make him permanent when he turns 65. Your advice??
